Mammogram
The other day, I was sent for my first Mammogram at the age of 30! I had found a lump and the doctors wanted it checked out. I was first sent for a breast ultrasound and then a mammogram. The radiologist was amazing, she was so informative about things to watch for with breast cancer. It turned out to be nothing (a non-cancerous fibrous lump), but it sure made me think about life differently! I am so thankful for everyone & everything in my life...and for being leading a well balanced life. Sorry if I alarmed anyone, but I just had to share....oh and by the way, it didn't hurt at all!

I'm going to take a little while to relax & have fun, so I will be back blogging in a week or so. Until then...take care and here's a little quote for you:

This Post is for RUSS!
Russ, as promised, a post dedicated to you...Enjoy and thanks for being a loyal blog visitor!

These photos are from a BBQ we attended at our friend and employee Brad's place a few weeks ago. The gals at the party had a giggle about how much meat was served and how little the salad was...truly a sign of a man's cooking! Thanks for the great manly-meal Brad, it was delicious.

Irwin's Canada Day BBQ
I'm really behind on posting this, but I had a wonderful time on Canada Day at Cory & Michelle Irwin's BBQ in Oxbow. The kid-free evening was relaxing and great to visit with everyone!

The Quilt Patch
I was privledged to visit my all time favorite quilt store while in Moose Jaw, SK a few weeks ago. The Quilt Patch is an amazing shop and they are one of the 'TOP 10' stores featured in the Better Homes & Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine. The owners are amazing and the kits & fabric are beautiful. I picked up a few quilt kits to work on in the winter months, since I don't know when I'll be back. If you can't make it there, they sell online...it's so fun to shop there!

Brad & Alicia (Hutfloetz) Smith's Wedding
7-7-07
We had the honor of attending Brad & Alicia's lucky 7's wedding a few weeks ago. My sister Christa was a bridesmaid for Alicia, I can remember the two of them being inseperable when they were younger. It was a beautiful wedding on a hot day in Moose Jaw, where the couple live. I was able to visit with many old classmates & friends during the wedding.

A funny little coincidence happened to us while staying at the hotel in Moose Jaw. Mom bumped into our cousin Shannon Snider....she was also married on 7-7-07 in a small ceremony in Moose Jaw...congratulations Shannon & Corey!

Collin & Amber Fischer's Wedding
Pool Fun
During our holidays a few weeks back, we had many opportunities to hit the swimming pools wherever we were. I enrolled Ace in 2-weeks of Swimming Lessons at the pool in Oxbow where I took all of my lessons as a child. He started in the Red Cross Preschool Swim program, Ducks level and was moved up to Sea Turtles, which he passed...guess we have a little swimmer in the family. Thank you to his wonderful teacher, Rhiannon, who was amazing with Ace...even when he was shouting 'help me, help me'.

1 wonderful summer holiday
The kids & I had a wonderful holiday in my hometown of Oxbow, Saskatchewan for the past two weeks. During the trip we were able to visit many friends & relatives and see lots of places. Thanks Mom & Dad for having us for the stay...we sort of turned your house upsidedown for a while. Cory joined us last Wednesday and we all drove back together. It's great to be back and I'll be working on getting on track with our normal routine this week.
Stay tuned as I get caught up from being away. I have lots of projects & updates to share and blog candy too!

Round Wedding Album
Here's another project I finished while at the Bloomin' Inn...a mini wedding album. It was offered as a class at Scrapbookers Bliss. I loved the cream & black theme throughout the book and have had many comments on the unique chipboard hat-box holder for the album...I may put some flowers on it as a finishing touch. Enjoy!

Book About Ace
I completed this book all about our son Ace during my most recent trip to the Bloomin' Inn. I have discovered that I like making mini-albums since they are so quick & easy to create. I am so pleased with this project that I may have just ended my scrapbooker slump, yay!
