Fiesta Cupcakes

I had the pleasure of baking & decorating cupcakes for Kyra's birthday party.

Grandma Krieger's Icing Kit

While icing cupcakes this afternoon, a bit of nostalgia reminded me of my Gramdma Krieger and what a great homemaker she was. I used her icing kit to top the cupcakes...it's one of my favorite kitchen tools of all time.

Kite Flying

We've been taking advantage of the high winds and flying kites on our campsite...I forgot how much fun it was and felt like a kid again.
Ace's first kit flying experience...he loved it!

Snakes + Boys = Ewww!

It made me smile when I stumbled upon this bunch of boys while at the ball diamonds one night...I snapped away as they discovered a SNAKE!

Kelby, our nephew was among the inquisitive bunch

It was so cool to watch them act like 'BOYS'.

Oxbow Baseball

We've been watching alot of baseball lately, especially since we are camping on the hill over looking the Oxbow ball diamonds.
My sister Christa is coach of her daughter Kyra's team
Here's Kyra pitching

It's fun to watch her, she does an awesome job!
Our nephew Kelby also plays, but I've only been able to attend his games with Ace & Scarlett...so I was unable to take photos as the kids were busy, busy.

Mothers Day 2008

Cory & the kids bought me red roses for Mothers Day this year, they were beautiful...I just had to take a few shots.

Beginning to Backfill

After everything was done to the basement exterior, Cory was able to begin backfilling. Luckily we are able to borrow my parents bobcat, thanks for that guys!
Dad is watching on the left while Cory operates the bobcat

Day 2 of Work

So, day 2 and I'm still here!
Today we placed weeping tile and covered it with crushed rock...sound easy right? Whewph, it was a workout. And yes, I wore my Lululemon capris...who says you can't be fashionable while working :)
Weeping tile is what is used to draw water away from the structures foundation
Don't ask my why it's called 'tile'...it looks an aweful lot like a tube to me!

My First Day of Work

I had my first day of work today with the Rock (aka: my husband Cory). I enjoyed being outside, getting some exercise and of course working with my hubby. We prepared the exterior basement walls for tar and then applied it (like you would paint).
Me shoveling & prepping I was to remove the foam insulation that squirted out of the cracks...to me it looked like popcorn twists
Here's the blowout I talked about earlier
Cory in his disposable suit, tarring the basement walls
Me in my Dad's coveralls
My job was to do the bottoms & corners
Dad, and expert painter, helped out too

Baby Lambs & Chicks

The kids enjoyed checking out the baby lambs & chicks at the Expressway Family Center. A former highschool classmate of mine, Paula (Peet) Swallow, brought the animals in from her farm.
