Last 'Miranda Day'
Ace & Scarlett have really enjoyed their time at Miranda's Day Home!  Today was their last day as full-time kids (I'm sure they'll be back for a day or two) since my work is winding down at the new house.  It has been great getting to know their family over the past few months and we are so thankful to have found such a wonderful babysitter like Miranda...afterall, she was the MOST important sub-contractor on our job of building the house; without her, it wouldn't have been possible!

Project 365 Kit

My Project 365 kit finally arrived, it is amazing!  Can't wait to start printing my January photos and start journalling.  Good news, the kit is being re-released (after selling out in such a short time), you can get yours here.
{Lori, I took this photo in front of my office paint color you had asked about, jalepeno pepper...let me know if you like it?}

Project 365: 1.25

On our trip to Estevan, we stopped to take a photo of the Boundary Dam Power Station on this very cold day.  Last year, Canada's PM announced that this facility would be the first to proceed with the Carbon Capture Project in efforts to regulate greenhouse gas emissions in major industrial sectors such as Southeast Saskatchewan.

And a trip to Estevan just wouldn't be complete without a stop for coffee/tea at Tim Hortons

Paint Crew
We have been cruizing along with the painting of our new home.  We've had lots of helpers, especially my parents.  Here's my Mom & I (above) after we painted our memories & music room in Bahaman Sea Blue.
And here's Dad, Mom & me (below) after we painted the dining room in Fairview Taupe.

Beautiful Sunrise
As I drove the kids to their day home, we stopped to take in the sunrise.  They had never paid attention to a sunrise before and thought it was a desert in the sky.  Then I went into explaining about the sunrise and sunset, they were thrilled to learn about it.

Fun with a box
We took our cardboard recycling in and brought home the empty box we toss it into.  Ace & Scarlett had so much fun playing for hours after we got home with this simple box.

Round Rice
Tonight was the first time the kids tried barley.  I made this quick dish that was so yummy and told them that it was 'round' rice (since they love rice so much), so they'd eat it.  It worked, I wouldn't say they love it, but they tried it and ate it, yay!

Painting
Today was a painting day for my Dad & I.  Edgecomb Gray was the winner of main paint color, but Revere Pewter came in as second, so I've decided to put it in the master & ensuite.  I'm actually liking this painting bit, but ask me in a week or so, my tune may change?

We woke today to a -42 degrees Celsius temperature.  Hard to believe that this beautiful sunset took place on one of the coldest days of our winter here in Saskatchewan.

Ace's First Piano Recital

Ace has been taking Music for Young Children in the Sunshine 1 level since September.  Tonight was his New Years recital (held in the basement of the United Church) & we were so proud of him when he got up in front of the audience to play a song he choose.  I attend lessons each week with Ace, as parental assistance is required in these pre-school level classes.  It is so great so see Ace progress from week to week and the program has a very well-created teaching process.  And Mrs. Mitchell is a wonderful teacher with alot of patience.
Then his class played 'The Farmer in the Dell' using other instruments.
It was an entertaining evening!  PS: We're looking to purchase a piano if anyone knows of one for sale.
