Railing
We've been hard at work staining this maple railing, FOUR times!  Now it's ready for polyurethane and VOILA...my vision of grandeur is coming together.

Scarlett in her Black & White Dress
She felt like dressing up this morning in her dress & sparkly shoes, which inspired me to take a few photos of our sweet 3-year-old.

Vintage Toys
The kids (Kelby, Kyra, Scarlett & Ace) found these toys to play with at Nana & Papas...they were toys my sisters & I played with as kids. Good to see they're getting some playtime again.

'Starlite Studio Photography' Launch

Today I launched my business, Starlite Studio Photography!
After months of research & photo shoots in the area, I was able to decide on the photography packages I'd offer.  The Oxbow Wedding & Grad Expo was the perfect event for me to launch and offer a few goodies to those who stopped by my booth.  Starlite Studio Photography has packages for: SINGLES, COUPLES, FAMILY, GRAD, WEDDING, PREGNANCY, NEWBORN, EVENTS & CORPORATE.  Please contact me if you'd like to receive a brochure.
A big thank you to Beth for designing my logo...I've had great feedback about my new 'look'!
There was a little Stampin' Up! at my booth too...not as much as I had hoped since most of it is packed.  But stay tuned for classes & an open house coming soon as soon as we move in to our new home.

Thanks everyone for stopping by my booth!

Project 365 2.27

Today I taught a Petite Picassos class at the Expressway Family Centre so the kids came along.  I found Scarlett dressed up in a princess costume sitting by herself at the bookshelf having some reading time.

Meal Planning
Each week, I attempt to organize meals for our family in advance.  If I don't get around to it, we are usually found scrambling at 5:30pm with what ends up to be an unhealthy meal.  This weekly plan saves us alot of time for meal prep and grocery shopping...it works for us (at least this week).

Resturant + Kids = Napkins
While staying in Minot with our friends, the Irwin family, we ate together at Space Aliens resturant...a very kid-friendly environment.  It was nice to have a meal and not worry about the kids being loud and running around...acting like kids (even though Michelle & I don't really like places like that).

Earlier that day we shopped & shopped at the mall.  Ace felt the need to wear his swim goggles???
Scarlett picked a Dora painting book to buy.
And Ace picked a book about snakes (yuck).
The kids posing in front of Yoda at Space Aliens resturant.
Our cool looking appetizer.

Pool Time in Minot
We headed to Minot for the weekend with the Irwin family.  I think we used the threat of 'not going to the pool unless...' 20 times before we made it to the hotel.  The kids had fun slip-slidin' at the pool of the Holiday Inn.

Painting Diamonds
Today I painted pink diamonds on Scarlett's new bedroom walls; something I've been wanting to do in her room since she was born, just never knew how to start.  With the inspiration of my sister Christa to 'go for it', here's how I did it:
- measured wall height and decided how many rows would evenly work out
- measured wall width and decided how I would achieve the number of diamonds I wanted across the wall (remembering that I wanted diamonds to be more tall than wide)
- made a cardboard template of the diamond, cutting out the centre
- marked out the corners of each diamond (with a pencil) using the template
- using painters tape, marked out each other diamond and gave it the first coat of paint (remove tape while paint is wet)
- let dry overnight
- marked out the remaining diamonds with painters tape and voila...a diamond covered wall!
I was amazed at how easy it was, planning it out took the longest.  The project took approx. 4 hours.  I used Benjamin Moore paint colors: Ribbon Pink (light) and Strawberry Pink (dark).

Fast Food Supper
Since I was in Estevan for a late-afternoon photography shoot, I brought home A & W to feed the family.

Thought this was cute...catching Scarlett getting into her Valentine's chocolates, standing on the garbage can...crazy kid.

Project 365 2.17

I adopted a tradition from this woman years ago to leave up our Christmas Cards till Valentine's Day, so we can have a bit more time to enjoy them.  They were just what our Little Winter Cottage needed to make it cozier this winter.
We also displayed this wall rub-on from Stampin' Up's Decor Elements line at our front door.  Such a great touch for a bit of festivity around the house to coordinate with each season.

Bandaids
Today was a day of injury around our house.  Ace cut his hand, I sliced my thumb and Scarlett scraped her knee.  We were all sporting Hello Kitty bandaids.

Valentine's Day '09

We had a special Valentine's Day together this year!  Dinner with close friends Curt & Cindy where I could show off my new piece of jewelry from Cory...a ring from my wishlist at Silpada.
A strawberry daquiri to go with the 'love' theme this evening.
And a better shot of the ring...I love it!
