Project 365 7.15

Today the kids went to daycare for my monthly 'catch-up on book keeping'. It was just me, my coffee and two laptops for the day. I'm happy to report that I accomplished alot and am well on my way to having year-end for our construction company ready to send off to the accountants.

My Dad came by to do some weed-wacking. I think he could hardly stand the look of our weedy yard. We are more focused on the inside of the house right now and are leaving the yard plans till next year. Thanks Dad for taking care of that for us, we really appreciate you sprucing it up.
Happy Mail! I am enrolled in this class at BPS. I have been a fan of Jenni Bowlin for years and am pumped to take her class.
Last night I convinced Cory to finally hang my rails from Ikea for my Stampin' Up! punch storage (thanks to Linda for this idea).
Slowly but surely, my studio is taking shape. I will be doing a detailed tour of my studio once it's completed, just have a few more shelves to buy. It's taken me a while to get it just right, so I'll be happy to share sometimes soon.

Fresh Picked Strawberries
Today Taylors Strawberry Patch opened for the 2009 season of berry picking. This family-owned farm has been running a U-Pick business for years. I has been a pleasure getting to know this great family over the last year of living here.

I look forward to going 'pickin' every July...but my Dad beat me to it. Dad went today and picked us this basket of fresh, delicious, mouth-watering strawberries...they probably won't last long in our house.

I love berry season! This evening for dessert, we all loaded up on antioxidants and ice cream! We enjoyed strawberries (of course), raspberries, saskatoons (also hand-picked by my Dad) and blueberries. The simplicity of summer YUM!

A Little Help From A Friend
Today, while Scarlett was napping in Ace's bed, I received an inspiring phone call from this friend. She also gave me a good little nudge about getting my blog caught-up...as I have been behind for WEEKS! Thanks Dee-Ann for the wonderful chat.

Found Scarlett sitting on the stairs today wearing her dress-up glasses and reading a book. She was so goofy when I got my camera and took a couple of photos. She is becoming her own little person.

Wine Club - Gwurztraminer (beware, you may become hungry after this post)
It was my turn to host wine club. As you may know, I love to entertain, so I was in my glory preparing and planning what I was going to serve for this evening.
I had FUN dressing this Asian themed table. Most of the 'wine verse' decor is from Michaels. I picked up the placemat at Walmart. Stemware: Ikea. The flower bowl is from Pampered Chef and the plateware is Denby.
The wine...

The food...
Bacon Wrapped Scallops
Shrimp & Salad Rolls
BBQ Chicken Skewers, served with vermicelli rice noodles

Strawberry & Goats Cheese with Spinach Salad
Homemade chocolate ice cream with raspberry sorbet dessert...then I topped it with chopped almonds...it was delish!
And the night ended with some dancing!
