Loving the color of these violet plums...I think it just might be my favorite new color of the season.

All dressed up to head to her friend Sadie's birthday party...a princess & knight theme.
She had so much fun and of course enjoyed the ring pop after.

Another laundry day today...
Thought I would share a photo of my laundry sorters. They are kept in our upstairs laundry room and help me out in cutting a step out of laundry. Since takes so many steps, I am thankful our family members know how to sort their dirty clothes. I recruited my friend Trina to make these labels out of plastic canvas...they are just perfect.

A new pet for the family...
Daddy brought this little tiger salamander home from work today. Once Ace & Scarlett saw it, they named it Zippy and asked 'can we keep him??? Please, please?' I am such a sucker because how could I say 'no'. So Zippy the salamander resides in Daddy's office...where I don't have to touch him.

Coco's New Friends

Already Coco is noticing the world around her...we are amazed it's all happening so quickly. Lately she has taken an interest in the hedgehog, owl & raccoon on her bouncy chair. She chats with them and tries to touch them, entertaining herself so well.

Oh how I love the imaginations of these kiddos! Most of the time they play so well together. Check out what they were doing today...not sure what they called it, but it sure was elaborate.

Finding Calm...
Writing blog posts has become a treat for me. I love the freedom that comes with having a blog or a journal of any kind. It provides quiet moments of reflection that re-calibrate my sense of self during periods of chaos that can easily overwhelm my rational perspective.
These photos identify calm to me. Taken in the beautiful Bow Valley that surrounds us here in Oxbow.
Where do you find your calm?

There won't be too many more warm days like this to play in the backyard in short sleeves. Enjoying it while we can.

We took a trip to Regina for these special little eyes. Scarlett was a trooper at the eye specialist...can you see her eyes severly dilated. The doctor reiterated that she must wear her glasses if she wants her eye that turns in to repair itself...or else she'll have to wear an eyepatch.

We took Coco for her first swim tonight. She looks so cute in her itty bitty bathing suit.
She really liked the water...

...especially since Daddy was with her (her favorite water buddy)

Almost every Saturday night we get together with family to have a meal together. My parents are usually the ones to host and treat us to a yummy home-cooked meal. Tonight it was time to give them a break, my sister made a reservation and we all went out to a restaurant. Here's a photo of the kids with their cousin Kelby as they wait for dessert.

Wine Club - Savignon Blanc

It was a very special wine club a few weeks ago, as we were saying farewell to one of our members, Jocelyn, as she moves to BC. She will be missed at all our gatherings, especially since she is the one who was most knowledeable about wine and fine dining. We will always make room for her at our wine tastings if she is ever back for a visit. We sent her with a few goodies as she leaves us. Miss you friend and wish you all the best on your BC journey and new adventure!
Michelle did an amazing job of hosting and the meal was excellent...it's so nice to be treated by friends who enjoy cooking for one another.
We dined at Michelle's new table and listened to David Gray music...a memorable night.
Delicious cheese tray
Garden tomatoes with cheese smothered in olive oil, garlic & herbs.
Main dish was baked crepes filled with a mixture of spinach, tomatoes, onions, bacon...mine was gone before I had a chance to take a photo.
Chocolate souffle and mint-chip ice cream for dessert!!!
Coco joined us at wine club this evening, only 6 days old.

Notes from the tasting...Savignon Blanc wine is known for it's crisp, elegant & fresh taste. Often drank chilled and pairs nicely with fish, cheese & sushi.
