Cory & the kids watching Team Canada play the gold medal game at the 2010 Olympics.
At one minute left in the third period, I ran to get my camera to capture this moment...

Who would have thought with just 30 seconds left, Team USA scored, leaving the game tied!!! Luckily Team Canada scored in overtime and relieved many, many fans across Canada!

It's almost the end of Ace's hockey season. I had a chance to capture some locker room time today before the game in Carlyle.

Our New Piano
We were given this piano for free and have been storing it in my parents shop. I finally was able to get ahold of the piano tuner who comes thru town every so often. After he took a short look, he let me know we had a keeper. Just a little fixing, cleaning & tuning and we would have a piano fit to have in our home. He took off all the white keys and is replacing them with a new set. He was able to find out that this piano was made in 1912, an antique.

Just a few Valentine's touches around the house I wanted to share before they get put away to make room for Easter items.

Above are Ikea jars filled with sugar. Sitting in front is the latest bearista bear in my collection.

Below, you can't go wrong decorating with candy. I have three mini jars from Ikea filled with these goodies.

Ouch Scarlett!
The kids were playing outside on the snowy deck today with their Daddy...having a great time. They got too close to the edge and both fell off onto a wooden bird feeder. As they crashed into it, the bird feeder smashed apart and exposed a stick with screws, which caught Scarlett in the forehead (we're so lucky it didn't go in her eye). Cory rushed them both in and yelled for me to help...it was then when I knew by the sound of his voice, someone was injured. We both took one look at her gapping gash and said...'lets go to the hospital'. So thankful for Dr. B and his surgical glue which prevented stiches!

Feeling no pain, she was all smiles once it was fixed up & done. Hope it heals fast!

What is Valentine's Day without chocolate!
We are loving having the Allan family for a weekend visit. Tonight we popped all four of them in the big tub to clean then off from a hard day of play.

The Allan family arrived to visit us for the weekend. Since the adults had dinner plans, the two Dads came up with a brilliant idea to take the kiddos for a snowmobile ride...to tucker them out for the babysitter. This was Pieter, Daisy & Gavin's first time on a snowmobile. Dawn & I stayed behind, had a coffee and caught up.

We shared Valentine's Day celebrations with Pieter & Dawn at the Olive Branch Bistro in Carnduff, SK. We had an amazing meal, some great laughs and caught some pics to remember the evening.
Wine for drinkers...it was good to have a smell.
Pumpernickle bread with a yummy warm spread.
Delish house salad.
Pieter's spagetti & meatballs.
Dawn, Cory & I had these crabcakes in a buttery-lime sauce...so good!

We indulged in their famous cheesecake for dessert, but had to take it home since we were so full from a wonderful meal!

Had a great Mommy & Ace afternoon today while Scarlett was at dance class. I cherish my alone time with each of them because it's very rare that I am able to be one-on-one with them. He finished writing out his Valentines, did homework {learned about the letter 'Q'}, made sugar cookies & did some vacuuming.
