Big Bathtub
So far, the only residents of this home to use our two-person bathtub in the master ensuite are Ace & Scarlett.  They love to fill it with bubbles and swim!

Baking in the New House
I really missed baking while most of our kitchen was packed up for the last year.  So today I broke out the Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and baked away.

The kids & I had a great 'Mommy Day' today...they were rewarded with 1/2 an hour of computer time on their favorite website: Kids CBC.  I was amazed by how well they helped each other out on the computer.

Working with Daddy
Cory was working at home today, installing the mudroom built-in cabinets.  Ace was so honored when Daddy asked him to help 'work'.  When we sat down for supper that evening, Ace said 'I worked really hard today for Dad, I'm really tired'.

We treated him with ice cream from Dairyland (our local ice cream shoppe) for a job well done...that perked him right up.

Movie & Popcorn Night
Poppin' some Jiffy Pop on the new stove (since my popcorn maker is on a hiatus in Calgary) for family movie night.  We love spending time together doing this on Friday nights.  Tonight we are watching Bolt!

Visit From Linda
Our first official visitor to our new home has been our dear friend Linda from Calgary for the past few days.  She helped us pack-up in Calgary about a year ago and has 0ffered to come to Oxbow to help un-pack too...this meant so much to us.  We have accomplished alot, the kitchen is completely put away, we got a good start on our studio (Linda is a SU Demonstrator like me, so we had fun seeing all the crafting goodies), and many more misc boxes.  Linda made us several beautiful cards, the one for our housewarming is above, and just behind is the pottery she brought us as gift.
Today we went to a soup & sandwich lunch held at the Oxbow Hall put on by the Healthcare Auxiliary Committee.  It was great to have Linda experience some of Oxbow's small town events while she was here.
We purchased cookbooks as a little souvenir for Linda's trip.
We'll miss you Linda, thanks for making the trip and for all your help!
Can't wait to have you for your next visit!

Boxes & Boxes
After living without all this 'stuff' for a year, we're beginning to wonder if we even need it???

Brown Fuzzy Dinosaur
When we broke it to the kids a few weeks ago that we'd be moving into our new house soon, they immediately thought of all the toys & belongings we had to pack up a year ago...and that they'd be seeing them again.  The first thing Ace thought of was this brown, fuzzy brontosaurus he picked out at Nana Bentley's garage sale a few years ago.  We thought it was so special he remembered this as being one of his favorites!

All Moved In
We're so happy to be moved into our HOME! We're settling in quickly after being here, there & everywhere for a year. It was so worth it to build our own home, it feels great and was well worth the wait!
I tossed on my rubber boots to take these night shots all-around the house.

Moving Day
Today is the day we moved all our 'stuff' into our new home in Oxbow.  We couldn't have done it without all the help & support from our family & friends, thanks everyone!  Thanks also to my Mom who took all of these photos so we could remember this day we have longed for since we began building...just under a year ago.  We can't wait to break this place in with a BBQ to thank everyone who helped!
It only took 1.5 hours to move all of our belongings from the storage unit.  6 trucks and many hands made for some quick work!
Trent with an almost empty trailer.
Aunt Loelle made chili for all our helpers to have for lunch.
My sister made Rice Krispy cake
And Arlie (our neighbour) made fresh cheese buns, coconut cake and
muffins for our movers to enjoy.

A special thanks to Trina (our neighbour) who babysat Ace & Scarlett during the move and saved them from parental neglect for the day, you're a life-saver!
Thanks again everyone, you're all GREAT!

Helpers, Helpers
Tonight was our first night in our new home! Thanks to all the help from friends & family who helped move all our belongings over from the Little Winter Cottage tonight.  It only took an hour to pack & move everything from one place to the other.
Mom & Arlie helped during the day to do more last minute cleaning.
All done for now, tomorrow we move all of our stuff in storage.
