Project 365: 12.5

First Hockey Tourney
Today this family spent the day at the Carnduff rink to watch Ace play in his very first hockey tournament. It was great to watch his whole age 5 & 6 team play two games (alot for those little guys), there were lots of laughs from the stands. During one intermission Cory told Ace to stand in front of the opposing team's net to wait for the puck. Ace sure did that, he stood there for the rest of the game even though the puck was at the other end...too cute! Way to go Ace, you skated your heart out today buddy!

Scarlett kept herself busy playing with the other hockey sisters in the stands and eating candy, she was really well behaved considering how bored she was. Luckily the other Mom's brought a hockey-sister-survival-kit and let Scarlett in on the fun...another thing for this rookie hockey Mom to take note of.

Project 365: 12.4

I'm celebrating tonight...It's finally here, the launch of my new photography website! I'm so excited to share it with you!

I love to take photographs...it's my passion! Each & every day I think about how precious life is, this must be where where my craving to capture each moment comes from. I'm so proud to be able to share that with others. I enjoy the challenge, creativity & the endless possibilities of photography. It's a job that allows me to be a busy Mom & wife and choose when I work. Stay tuned, there's much more to come!

Project 365: 12.3

If seeing these two dressed like this doesn't make you laugh, I don't know what will...oh my!

Today we did some much needed organizing in our family room upstairs. I love a clean and organized bookshelf!
I looked forward to going out for supper with these gals ALL DAY, I was so excited! Lachelle, Trina & Missy are some of the most crafty & amazing gals I know...we've all become good friends. I loved having a visit with all of them since we're all so busy and find it hard to get together. So Missy picked a date and booked us in for supper at the Olive Branch Bistro where we indulged in cheesecake...after the delicious meal of course.
Smartie Cheesecake...yummy!

Thanks for the great evening girls!

Project 365: 12.2

Just another Wednesday...finally got around to taking a self-portrait for my up & coming photography website.

Scarlett begged to go play outside in the snow before she headed to dance class. She had fun making snow angels.

Piper loves the snow!
Ace enjoyed helping Mommy around the house when he got home from school.

Project 365: 12.1

Relaxin after putting up our Christmas tree...more decorating tomorrow.

Project 365: Today

The last few weeks have been a burst of many things...the delay in getting up-to-date on my blog again was from a lack of knowing what to say??? And that is why I feel so lucky to have my photography, because when I don't know what to say, I say it in my photographs....'A picture is worth a thousand words'!

I've also been working on a few things I'm excited to reveal in the next week!

I'm refreshed, I'm back...please keep an eye on me so I don't stray again :)

Thanks for stopping by!!!
~ Starr
Only a few weeks left for Project 365...for this year!

All About Scarlett Mini Book

I love making mini albums...and my family loves looking at them! I made this one during the last retreat I attended using the Big Shot Scallop Square Die and Simply Scrappin' kits. Scarlett was so excited to see a book All About Her!

Found this football sign while on a quick weekend trip to Minot. My Mom has brainwashed the kids to cheer for the Saskatchewan Roughriders...aka 'The Good Guys'. But there's no converting Cory...still a Calgary Stampeders fan all-the-way.

Project 365 11.22

Today's Project 365 photo was inspired by this amazing woman...she reminds us to capture the everyday (even if it's un-exciting). And that a counter full of dirty dishes means food on the table...and our family is thankful for that!

A few details about our kitchen sink I have been receiving questions about
- Faucet - it's the Delta Allora with pull-down spout...it's got an amazing magnet in the spout to help it to retract after constant use

Dinner With Girlfriends
We travelled to the village of Forget (population approx 29) this evening to celebrate my friend Jocelyn's birthday at the Happy Nun Cafe.
I was amazed by my first visit to this fantastic restaurant, just a short 50 minute trip from Oxbow. The part I was most impressed about was the warm atmosphere, delicious food and customer service.
Appetizers...

Good company...

Great conversation pieces...
Their menu is simple and it works...choose from three daily items
Cozy atmosphere...
Vintage touches...

Dessert...

Great friends...
Hot cocoa...

Happy Birthday Jocelyn (here she is with the cook)!
A great night! I think I speak for the rest of the group when I say we'll be heading back to The Happy Nun very soon!

Little Trip to the USA
My daughter & I took a 15 minute drive down to our family US post office box this morning. I love going there and discovering the mailbox is full of specialty catalogues that we can't request/receive in Canada. They are wonderful for home decor ideas!
While on our trip, we took our time and enjoyed capturing some of the scenery along the way.

Project 365 11.6

Trip to Minot
We headed to Minot for the weekend to visit with family and get some Christmas shopping started. Stayed at the Holiday Inn...the first thing the kids do when we stay at a hotel is jump on the beds.
