We were in for a definite TREAT tonight...a very special dinner which we bid on at this auction with two other couples, the Irwin's and the Heiser's.  We call it 'Sandy's Supper'...Sandy Dalziel donated an evening of fine dining & hosting in her home and tonight we were lucky enough to be her guests.
The food, oh my...where do I begin.  When we arrived, we were greeted with beverages followed by appetizers.  Sandy served us crab filled wontons, cranberry tart & fresh bread with several spreads.  Then we enjoyed a mouth-watering tortellini spinach salad with poppyseed dressing.  The main course was individual stuffed cornish hens with herbed baby potatoes, fresh steamed green beans & onion casserole. And for dessert there were delicious chocolate cups filled with fresh berries, hawaiian cake & caramel cheesecake (my fave).
Everything was so great, I'd like to THANK Sandy again for her hospitality on this memorable night...we had a wonderful evening!

The kiddos & I had a great morning at the Family Centre.
Alicia led this cute craft...snowman canvases.  So clever to use the kids' handprints to make snowman bodies.

We were so excited to hear Daddy was able to take the Family Day Holiday off of work to spend with us. We enjoyed the day together and took the chance to take part in the family skating event (while Nana watched Coco) put on by EFC at the local rink.

Baby Time

Thursday mornings are Baby Time at the local Family Center. I am pleased to be a part of the drop-in activities there, anyone and everyone is welcome. It's usually Scarlett, Coco & I who head down for the activities they have coordinated. We've taken part in Gym Babies, Sign Language for Babies, Family Tree Making, Baby Weigh & Measure & Baby Scrapbook Pages. It's such a treat to have this offered in our community!

Munsch to the Max Puppet Show

Tonight I took the kids to see the 'Munsch to the Max' Puppet Show performed by Wide Open Spaces, sponsored by the Expressway Family Centre. It was an amazing event, very well attended and the kids loved it!

They performed 6 Robert Munsch stories:
Where is Gah-Ning?
Murmel Murmel Murmel
More Pies
No Clean Clothes
Alligator Baby
Jonathan Cleaned Up and Then He Heard A Sound

It's so amazing that the EFC puts on these amazing events...what a value it has for youth & the community!

We went to see the baby lambs & chicks at the Family Centre today.
The kids loved the baby lamb...love the look on Ace's face.
And Scarlett didn't leave the lamb's side the whole time, she loved that lamb.

Then the baby chicks arrived, so cute!

Quilting Class

I attended another great class tonight put on by the EFC, lead by Shelley Baldwin & Evelyn Lochart. These two women are novice quilters that live in the area and they were nice enough to lend us their expertice.
I brought the only project I've ever quilted with me, a crib quilt I made before Ace was born.
The finished project made in the class, a pot holder. So proud of how it turned out.
These two goofy kids clearing the table after supper.

A closer look!

Winter Paper Bag Album

A closer look at the finished sample for the Winter Paper Bag Album I taught this week at the Expressway Family Centre. I mainly used this Simply Scrappin kit, white paper bags (sewn together) and lots of fun ribbon. The class was a hit! You can order a kit for $25, let me know if you're interested. And don't forget about the Sale-A-Bration event on now with Stampin' Up!, order online or contact me for details.

We headed to the Expressway Family Centre this evening for the kids to have their very own New Years Celebration!
They had a wonderful time dancing and playing.
Making crafts...noise makers for midnight (which was actually at 20:10 hours).
Playing dress-up and dancing to the Locomotion. Of course, they had a great time, us parents did too! Thanks EFC for putting on such great events for families to enjoy!
