Sex and the City Movie Night

On May 31st, my sister Amber & I gathered 17 girlfriends and went to see the 'Sex and the City Movie' in Calgary. It was an amazing night...with the girls!

The movie made famous by these four women: Charlotte, Miranda, Samantha & Carrie

We began with cosmopolitains & appetizers at Joey Tomatoes resturant.

Gift bags included: Sex and the City soundtrack, quiz, movie magazine, movie ticket, $10 consession gift card, cosmo glass/bath sundae, pink pen, condom, pink tampons, mini shoe...in pink bags of course!
Amber dressed as 'Carrie Bradshaw' from Am's favorite episode when Aiden asks Carrie to marry him in front of the fountain in her white dress & engagement ring on a necklace.

Everyone looked fabulous and wore their fave pair of shoes...

Hello Lover!

If you recognize that phrase, then you were probably as excited as I was for the Sex and the City MOVIE that premiered in theaters a few weekends ago!

If you haven't gone to see it, I would say, take your favorite pair of shoes out and SEE IT!

Glow in the Dark Evening

I stayed with my friend Kim on night #2 in Calgary. We went to the Kanye West concert and had a great time!

Joining Kanye were Rhianna, Lupe Fiasco, Pharrell and special appearance by Chris Brown. The concert was amazing...second best concert I've seen (U2 Popmart tour was #1). My favorite part was the 12-minute version of 'Stronger' and 'Mama' (tears were fallin').

Scrapbook Store Visits in Calgary

On a kid-less visit to Calgary...what does this scrapbook/craft lovin' gal do...what else, shop Scrapbook Stores! My first visit was to Scrapbookers Bliss where Rose was there to greet me.
We had a great visit and she sent me home with this farewell gift, thank you so much:

I also shopped at two of my favorite other stores: Sheep River Scrapbook Co. & The Scrap Yard. Each store had new goodies that I was so happy to find & bring home to create.

Visit with the Chibrys

I travelled to Calgary for a jam packed weekend of work & play from May 29th - June 2nd. I arrived and cleaned up our Calgary home and said goodbye to it as the new owners were moving in the next day. Then I headed over to the Chibrys house where I was invited to stay for the night and for Dee-Ann's Tupperware party. It was great to catch up with many of our mutual friends and to some of them it seemed like we hadn't even moved away 3 short weeks ago. I was also able to meet Maks, D's sweet new nephew as seen below

After the party, I had a wonderful time catching up, snacking and hangin' with the Chibrys. There's just something about spending time with my friend D that makes for 'never a dull moment'. They were so hospitable during my stay, I had a wonderful time!

We have GAS!

The gas line was put into our lot today...now all we're waiting for is the town to do the water & sewer lines.

Basement Plates

This week we began putting the plates (made of 2" x 8" boards) on top of the concrete wall of the house. The first plate is put on and bolted into the concrete, then the screws sticking out are sawed off.

The second plate is put on top and shimmed up to achieve the correct elevation and level.

Ace & Scarlett's New Room

The kids have been enjoying the camper and their new room. They have their own space in the bedroom with quad bunks. Here they are before bed in their bunks enjoying a story.

It's very cozy for them, Scarlett in her Hello Kitty bed and Ace in his Camping bed
They have lots of room to play and store all their toys...it's a fun room!

Cheese Whiz Buns

Cheese Whiz Buns are one of my favorite comfort foods from childhood...Mom made them for us at lunch today. They are simply Cheese Whiz spread on half of a fresh bun with chunks of fried bacon on top. Broil them for a few minutes and they are delish!
