We made a trip to Regina today specifically for these little ears. We have been trying to get Ace into a hearing clinic for months and today was the day. He did really well with following the instructions in the sound-proof room, the woman who tested him was very kind and patient. But since he has a cold, we have to go back for more tests when he is well.
It's looking like he might have a hearing problem with low volumes (similar to what Cory had when he was Ace's age). They did this puff-of-air test in each ear canal, if it shows mountains on the screen (as mine did) as a result that means sound is getting to your eardrum and it's vibrating from the sounds. If it shows oceans on the screen (as Ace's did) as a result that means there is something preventing/blocking sound from getting to the ear drum. Most likely it's fluid, but we need his cold to clear up to be sure. We will probably be recommended to an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist by our family doctor once the results are in.
Today I asked Ace why he can hear Mom & Dad, but not some other people when they talk...he says 'because I came from you guys and we love each other'...what a cutie!

AWWWW - what a cutie and how adorable is that answer to your question?!? Gave me goosebumps. What a blessed kind to really know and understand how much his parents love him!
